Hey, Tarra here!
Although I’m not in menopause I do sometimes feel like I experience Perimenopausal symptoms.
It’s not fun to admit, that at 46 years old, I may in fact be approaching this time in my life. I believe this stage is the worst because you don’t know what to expect whereas in Menopause I assume you know what’s been around for a bit.
Having said that, I feel that while I’m not experiencing any full signs I should investigate natural alternatives to help me, should they all of a sudden appear and I’m not left in the dark.
Having studied Holistic Nutrition, I know Black Cohash (or as it’s listed on the container as Actaea racemosa, it is used to assist in womanly problems as it can have the same effects as the hormone Estrogen. Like a lot of herbs that are considered adaptogens, Black Cohash has to increase estrogenic effects in some parts of the body and decrease it in others.
It’s also been said that the chemicals in the roots of Black Cohosh act similar to serotonin in the brain.
There are some side effects to using this herb long term like gastrointestinal upset and that’s why it’s recommended to limit use to 6 months at a time.
And as always, it’s best to tell your Doctor or Naturopath that you want to take herbs as they may conflict with any medication you are on.
This tea didn’t taste bitter as I expected it to, much like the Insomnia tea from Curatea I found the herbal taste milder than most green teas or herbal teas I’m used to.
I’ve been trying this tea from Curatea for the past few days and I am loving it! It comes in individual teabags packed into a handy little tin that keeps it nice and fresh. With this one, you let it steep for 5-10 minutes before drinking so that you get all the benefits flowing from your teabag into your cup.
The taste of this detox tea is great. I was surprised that I could leave the teabag in for 10 minutes and the tea never tasted bitter! So that was a major plus for me. This tea was so good that I wanted to drink more than one cup in one sitting. You can have up to 3 cups per day (which we did) and THANK GOD because damn this tea was good!
